The Suppressed Elephant 🐘

Each cell answers one question: if we decode the Jacobian-lens reading of the residual stream at this layer and this prompt position into the vocabulary, where does the target token rank? Rank 0 = top-1; darker = more readable. Rows L19–L39 are the model's workspace band (read through the lens); the separate output row is the model's actual output pathway (hc_head → lm_head). The gap between a dark cell in the band and a light one on the output row is the whole point: a concept the model holds but does not say.
